Valentina in Shorts

Last weekend I stayed at the ALPINA Family, Spa & Sporthotel in Sankt Johann im Pongau, in the Salzburgerland region. I was very excited because I would have had the opportunity to discover an area that I have crossed many times by car and because a bit of Spa never hurts! At the end I warmly say you that I really enjoyed a relaxing break from my Viennese routine.
The Alpina Family Spa & Sporthotel is located in Alpendorf at the foot of Gernkogel mountain, gateway for reaching the Amadé Ski area! With the cable railway in front of it you can reach directly the huge Amade´ Ski area with 850 km slopes, just with one ski pass!  A rich program of health & wellness classes, gym area, 2 indoor tennis camps and a golf simulator complete the sport activities offer of the Alpina Family, Spa & Sporthotel.

The offer of the wellness area is just perfect. You can enjoy that feeling of purity, lightness, relief by taking a bath or a whirlpool pleasure into the indoor pool or the breathtaking infinity pool on rooftop. You can heat up in the Finnish and herbs saunas or in the steam room and then chill out in the cosy relax room with a nice view on the surrounding mountains. Or even better, you can delight yourself with a massage and beauty treatments at the beauty spa. The Asian Beauty & Spa has several cute “private areas”, where among the various classic treatments you can choose many oriental treatments like, for example, a Balinese massage!

In addition to the pampering program at the wellness & spa area, the hotel offers a refined restaurant proposal, especially in the evening. I loved the refined bright interiors at their main restaurant, it was really classy! The kitchen recommends a four-course dinner that combines, I would say, a slightly Mediterranean cuisine with regional fresh speciality. Guests can choose also to have lunch or dinner in their Bistrot – Pizzeria and to enjoy the after dinner with a glass of wine in the beautiful wine cellar! The hotel pays also attention to ensure the tranquility of all guests. The Alpina Resort is a family hotel and it is really well organized with baby sitting services and children activities, corner with ice creams and sweets at the buffet and, last but no least, a children pool area, separated from the other pool and saunas amenities. Breakfast was excellent, with any made-to-order egg dishes you desire, pancakes or crepes, fresh juices, wine, tea selections and lots of delicatessen from the gourmet buffet: fresh fruits, homemade jams, bio butter, müsli and porridges, a great selection of cheeses, cold cuts, salmon and different types of sweets and homemade bread.  Everything you can wish for the perfect start into the day!

A place that I definitely wanna visit again! ♥

My extra tip for discovering the surrounding area:

A visit at Jägersee. About half an hour’s drive through the valley in southerly direction from the village of Wagrain you can reach the pretty Jägersee. The round walk around the lake or a summer dive are definitely worth a visit!
