For more than 150 years, the well-kept recipe has been handed down from generation to generation and creates it unique bouquet of flavours. Its bitter-sweet taste, with hints of orange and lemon and with subtle nuances of myrtle, juniper berries, rosemary and sage stimulates the senses and makes Averna not only a bitter, but also a real experience. What better way to enhance its carattere siciliano – Sicilian character – than the so called “ammazza caffe`” ritual. After dinner, take a good espresso italiano combining with a few pieces of chocolate and then enjoy your glass of Averna. You will feel what a delightful triumph of flavours! Try it to believe! What do I also love to do next? In my hometown we say making “resentin” or rinse the cup with a drop of Averna. When you really don’t want it to end!
I personally also love the new bottle design both modern and connected to the tradition with details of its land: the square of the typical handmade tiles, the symbol of Sicily itself and the signature of its founding father. They emphasize the long Sicilian tradition and the preciousness of its aroma.
