Two weekends ago I stayed at the Haven Mountain Retreat in Sankt Johann im Pongau, in the Salzburgerland region. I was very excited because I would have had the opportunity to stop by on my way back to Vienna after a busy week in my home town in Italy. A bit of Spa and Selfcare never hurts! At the end I warmly say you that I really enjoyed a relaxing break from my Viennese routine. The Haven Mountain Retreat is located in Alpendorf at the foot of Gernkogel mountain, gateway for reaching the Amadé Ski area. With the cable railway in front of it you can reach directly the huge Amade´ Ski area with 850 km slopes, just with one ski pass or using the Jo Tourism Card.
As I stepped into, I immediately noticed the harmonious blend of materials, characterized by light and warm neutral tones, skillfully complemented by the warmth of wood. The hotel comprises a collection of well-appointed apartments and suites, each thoughtfully equipped with terraces, kitchens, and living areas. Here, you have also the option to whip up your meal with their pre-prepared meal kits. Whether it’s crafting a gourmet dinner in their panoramic restaurant or firing up the barbecue on your terrace, the possibilities are as vast as the scenic horizons that surround you.
What truly sets the Haven Mountain Retreat apart is its unwavering commitment to design and materials. The entire establishment, from the stylish spa area, which boasts a modern yet distinctly Japandi aesthetic, to the panoramic seventh-floor restaurant, is adorned with impeccable taste. The menu boasts meticulously crafted, exquisitely presented dishes that showcase the finest in regional ingredients. The breakfast spread was also impeccable. It’s a true feast for the senses, featuring a wide array of local products that highlight the region’s culinary treasures. They offer made-to-order egg dishes, pancakes or crepes, fresh juices, wine, a variety of tea selections, and an array of delicacies from their gourmet buffet. This buffet featured fresh fruits, homemade jams, organic butter, muesli, and porridge. Additionally, there was a diverse selection of cheeses, cold cuts, salmon, a variety of sweets, and homemade local bread. It was a perfect start in the morning ensuring that the day ahead at the Haven begins on a delicious note.
The wellness offerings at the Haven Mountain Retreat are truly exceptional, and they extend beyond what I initially described. In addition to the rooftop pool, whirlpool pleasures, and saunas, the hotel also offers a range of fitness and relaxation activities to cater to your well-being.
Guests have the opportunity to participate in invigorating fitness classes and soothing yoga sessions, making it an ideal place to rejuvenate both the body and the mind. This added dimension to the wellness experience ensures that you can maintain your exercise routine or explore new paths to tranquility during your stay.
