Venice is always Venice. Definitely one of the most beautiful cities in the world. To me is always a pleasure to come back, especially since I moved to Austria. Furthermore my home town is not faraway and for that reason I know it very well because I was used to visit it at least 2-3 times a year thanks to its cultural proposal, many school trips or during my Italian university. For this reason I like every time to explore new places, less chaotic. If you want to live the authentic Venice, as a Venetian, I suggest to stay in the Cannaregio district. If you don’t know Venice so much, I would suggest you just to stroll into the “Calli“, its tiny little streets, for discovering its incredible colored glimpses and unique details. Then stop by in a “Bacaro“, the typical small Venetian taverna for tasting a dish of fish and “Spritz e Cicchetti“, the Venetian street food, kind of Aperitivo in some way too. Stop by a “Cantina do Spade” near to Rialto Bridge, “Lele” near to the train station, “Al Timon” along a sunny little canal in the Cannaregio district. Have a dinner at the cute Aciugheta Trattoria in Campo Santi Filippo e Giacomo.

What I also love to do in Venice? A visit at the Venice Biennale, enjoy the view of the Grand Canal from the Accademia Bridge (in my opinion the most suggestive spot) and absolutely get a look at the close Peggy Guggenheim Collection. Here you can have a complete look into the 20th century Art and enjoy the gorgeous quite garden of Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, where Peggy Guggenheim lived and which is now the Gallery location.
Then continue towards the art museum of Punta della Dogana, where the Grand Canal meets the Giudecca Canal. For all lovers of architecture this is really a must. Just one word: Ando!

I am not big fan of San Marco Square just because it is always full of people but, of course, a short visit to the Byzantine mosaics inside the Cathedral is a must! You can reach it, sharing the Gondola fast transfer from Punta della Dogana. It costs just 2€. Do it! 

Do you want a 360° view of Venice? Visit the Fondaco dei Tedeschi, the new exclusive luxury shopping mall in the historic building, situated on the Grand Canal near the Rialto Bridge. On the rooftop there is a beautiful open air terrace with a breathtaking view to the whole city!
