As the Italian poet Ugo Foscolo wrote in his famous sonnet “A Zacinto”, Zakynthos is the happy haven for me. Every year I spent the best days with such joy and desire surrounded by little mass tourism and the amazing colors of the island and its sea. We all have places of the heart and Zakynthos is exactly that for me.
Our home, as tradition has it, was once again the Lithies boutique hotel in the north of the island, the most stunning and wild part. Our terrace with a view of Kefalonia was spectacular, especially during the sunset.

This year in particular we spent our days only in our favorite places and we indulged more than usual in the local cuisine. I would like to recommend the following restaurants and taverns. Some of them are a confirmation such as the tavern Pilarinos, on the beach of Makris Gialos and their amazing craft beer, the Levante beer.
Don’t miss the Bassia restaurant, the Tavern Porto Limnionas for their pork souvlaki, the family run tavern Ex Animo and the Madrakia Tavern and snack bar directly on a cute little beach. Moussaka, meat or fish skewers, roulades in vine leaves, rabbit, stew of beef and lamb are the typical dishes, all accompanied by the ever-present tzatziki sauce and Greek salad. So genuine and simple, as I love!
Many thanks Zakynthos for welcoming us with as much warmth and colour as every year.
See you soon ♥
